Fire Chief Jeff Pawul
Fire Chief Jeff Pawul has dedicated his career to the safety and well-being of the community since being hired in 2008, with extensive experience in fire service leadership, district management, and community outreach. Currently serving as Fire Chief for the Captiva Island Fire Control District, Chief Pawul brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to his role, ensuring that both the island's residents and visitors receive the highest standard of fire protection and emergency services.
Chief Pawul earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of the Cumberland’s, where he cultivated a strong foundation in management and finance. His academic background has helped him apply best practices to both fire response and organizational leadership throughout his career.
In addition to his role as Fire Chief, Chief Pawul is involved in fire service leadership and advocacy. He also serves as Secretary and Treasurer of the Lee County Fire Chief's Association, where he plays a key role in coordinating initiatives, enhancing collaboration, and supporting professional development for fire service personnel across the county.
Before joining the Captiva Island Fire Control District, Chief Pawul worked in the private sector with Pulte Homes, where he gained valuable experience in project management, safety protocols, and community development. This background has been instrumental in his ability to understand both the operational and residential needs of his community.
Chief Pawul is a dedicated family man, proud to be married to his wife, with whom he has two amazing daughters. He values spending time with his family and being an active part of the Captiva Island community, where he has made lasting connections with local residents and businesses.
